Still Life

In this small series of paintings everyday objects are elevated. These objects are deliberately painted in a slightly skewed manner, so as to add a plasticity and interest to the eye, rendering them alive. These not so still still life works comprise of hand crafted objects, with the blue & white pottery set against a dark backdrop. Instead of painting these still lifes with a static accuracy, they are painted with loose mark-making, giving more movement to the features. The paint is richly applied to a textured, touchable, finish.
