Marine and Waterways
People are drawn to water. Water in a painting may range from a puddle to an ocean, but always adds both a reflective property as well as an element of movement. It can be painted in great detail or simplified for overall effect. It may be a rich turquoise blue green ocean or water of a shallow brook cobbling over rocks. Observe any body of water closely and you will find endless variety of colors constantly changing. Attempting to capture its movement, reflections, direction and volume is challenging but also very impactful when one gets it right.
